Our Ethos

Calgarth Park is administered by the Lake District Housing Association Ltd on a not-for-profit basis with exempt charitable status.

The LDHA was established with the intention of providing housing and associated amenities for persons over 55 years, rather than for financial gain.

We fulfil our charitable objectives by providing a caring, secure and comfortable environment, with appropriate support at an affordable price.

Our income is derived solely from the rents and this covers all the maintenance of our Grade II listed Georgian mansion, the staffing costs and provides for a contingency fund.

We take our responsibilities seriously and ensure that we comply with, or exceed, the health and safety requirements demanded of us. We have the highest possible rating from Environmental Health for our food systems and safety and are fully committed to providing a safe environment for our staff and residents.
