Residents have keys for their flat and the front door of the house so they can come and go as they please. A resident can choose to stay all day in their warm, comfortable flat and only join others for lunch, if they wish. The well-stocked library is inviting for readers and the sitting room is an agreeable environment for meeting others or playing the piano or a board game.

The gardens are a lovely location for a pleasant stroll with strategically placed benches to encourage just sitting looking at the view. For those who like a walk, there is a shop near the end of our drive which makes a pleasant half mile round trip or you can get your boots on and make the most of being in the heart of the Lakes.

Activities are organised in the house and shopping or leisure trips can be arranged at residents’ request. Windermere has a very active U3A with many groups and there are also lectures and talks available on a wide range of subjects. The cinema is in Ambleside and we have theatres in Bowness and Keswick.

Food lovers will probably know about the award-winning restaurants in this area but there are also excellent pubs and cafes worth visiting.
