Residents' Barbecue

We are hoping to hold a barbecue the weekend of 8/9 June but the day will depend on the weather which is rather unsettled at present  Our friends from Ambleside Rotary Club are bringing burgers and buns and cooking them on the barbecue.  Stan, our chef, has made osme elderflower cordial and will put togeher salads and light desserts.  On the day Stan and his partner Kate will be demonstrating their dancing.

We were delighted to welcome the members of a television production company who were here to record a piece with Tony Robinson.  Tony was talking with Trevor Avery of the Windermere Holocaust Project and also with Kevin Coulter of Dalton  who was a patient here in 1945, when Calgarth was the Ethel Hedley Orthopaedic Hospital for Children.  Kevin was in the bed next to one of the Jewish refugees, Mendel Preter, who was admitted with TB.  Kevin was also interviwed here for the BBC Open Country programme which was broadcast in November 2018.  We don't know when the Tony Robinson programme will be going out but will put a message up here when we know.

Open Coffee Morning

We have not set a date for our next Open Coffee Morning but will put details here as soon as we have a date.  In the meantime, if you would like to visit us and have a look around, you would be very welcome.  Just give me a call on 015394 43016 to fix a date and time.  Thank you.
