Successfully administered by the Lake District Housing Association for over forty years, Calgarth is run on a not-for-profit charitable basis.

The accommodation comprises one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartments, all of which have a fully-fitted kitchen and shower or bathroom.  The communal rooms and many of the apartments have stunning Lakeland views.

Residents pay a one-off, non-refundable redecoration sum equal to one month's rent when the Occupancy Agreement is signed and then a monthly rental fee. The rent  includes a home-cooked, three-course lunch, Monday to Friday, central heating, hot water and 24/7 emergency call service. This is a worry-free environment where the House Manager, staff and contractors sort out all the troublesome issues of property maintenance leaving the residents free to enjoy the Calgarth lifestyle in this wonderful location.
